Blood Still Burns

Blood still burns
And turns to ice
In my tired veins.
Blood still drips
From my broken fingers,
And the shiver ripples over my skin.
Her shadow, her ghost
Walks in my night,
Holds my heart
In poisoned hands.
She smiles, she screams, she breaks?
Blood still burns,
My mind still cowers
In its dark corner.
Years come, years go
And I pretend it doesn't matter.
I pretend
I don't miss her
but the blood
still burns.
