Human Cage

Compelled, pressured, push and prodded,
Placed on a pedestal of ice,
Worshiped like a winter god,
An April fool about to die,
I feel the world is spinning round me,
Laughing at my whimpering plea,
Rushing past like railway landscapes,
I unnoticed here remain.
Trapped within a box of crystal,
Walls too close for me to breath,
Constant viewers gawk and whisper,
My human zoo and human cage.
To sleep, to dream, to crawl in silence,
To feel my heart beat calm once more,
To be free of pain and pressure,
And hide from this tormenting world.
