You want a poet,
A dying soul
Trapped in the wilderness.
You want the tears of forever
Splashing on the pavement of life.
You want the tortured sun
Sinking into the endless ocean.
You want the dreams of children
Encased in black diamonds.
You want a life that hides
From the living nightmare,
And a hand that shakes
In the Autumn breeze.
You want a heart that's broken
Into a thousand pieces.
You want the eyes that burn
With the touch of death.
You wanted a poet,
I am just a man.
