there will come a day
the day before i die
i would like to know
when it is

so i can tidy
up my life
and make all the
necessary apologies

try and contact
all those lost friends
and make amends
with anyone who ever
harboured
hatred towards me

on the day before i die
i would visit my first home
to say goodbye
where it all began

on the day before i die
i would visit my mother's
grave
to say farewell

i would not speak
