A brief moment of happiness is;
the gaze in your eyes,
the warmth i feel from your gentle touch,
my hands in your hands
under the dim lighting of this tea room,
this crippling shyness that possesses my body
as i hide away in my arms,
and the atmosphere we have created
just by being together.
For months i have been waiting,
waiting to feel such happiness
although short-lived as i depart.
For now this happiness can only be relived
in my dreams and thoughts, as i wait
for this.. again.

Very nice, matthewenglish16.
Very nice, matthewenglish16. I like this poem very much. Do I detect the influence of the cherry blossom, the symbol of the ephemeral nature of beauty, in this poem?
I have just one question: Am I wrong in thinking that the line, “as i hide away in my arms” should be “as i hide away in your arms”?
I’ll be returning to your work again.

No, I haven't read any of your others yet, but I will. I am also very interested in Japan as I lived in Tokyo for 29 years. I live in Shanghai now but visit Japan about once a month. A good part of my writing non-fiction as well as fiction features Japan.
