A Thousand Doors

Lost in a daydream
Walking down the street
One mind always racing
A sluggish pair of feet
One long sunny day
Against the never ending night
A land without a king
Would be a land of constant light
Sorry scatterbrained scarecrow
That you hang on a stick
In this godforsaken forest
Ruled by a godforsaken witch
Bite down on the leather
And dig along the border
To crumble sorry statues
Of a silly pecking order
A thousand doors and hours
Of no one's stolen time
Have lit my bed on fire
And killed my concubine
Time exhales the smoke
We just walk among the billows
Melting through the floor
Falling on our pillows
Screaming under water
Silent bubbles in the lake
Hope gone chasing circumstance
As fate rewinds the tape
On and on we fall
From the sky onto the Earth
Raining tears and blood
Dying towards our birth
Nothing left to do
Like shining dew drops in the sun
Since our beginning has began,
Before we could have become.
