Some Chapters they are in parts bold, large print, easy to follow the information or concise.
Some chapters they are fiction, or we are led to believe they are fiction, but in reality where it seems they are, they are like an open book read and known by all.
They say, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” We have all done that, we have all been guilty of that. One of the best books that I have ever read, has the most rubbish looking cover, but it was recommended to me, and I am so glad I listened to her.
Some Chapters they are in different languages, some are in red letters, or italics.
There are billions of chapters, each and every one is different, it all makes for an interesting read, IF we take the time to read and digest and only then can we fully understand what the author wants us to understand.
When I did eBay many years ago, it was great to find in the charity shop, a converted limited edition, or first edition, that really put the price up.
As with some people, their lives seem like war and peace! Enough said about that.
Other chapters, when we read them, they move us to tears. I remember reading a book, many years ago in my lunch break, we ate where we worked, as there was no allocated place to eat our lunch. I had come to a very sad part of the book, and I had colleagues next to me and opposite me on the small table, I didn’t want to cry in front of them, so I held it back, as much as I was able to, and I experienced something I had not experienced before. My nose started running! I got a tissue and wiped my nose, that was better than crying in public.
The Power of a chapter!
On another occasion, I was in the small waiting room of the Citizen Advice Bureau, I was reading a very good book called The Kid, it was his second book, called The Kid Moves On, and he was on the aeroplane. I wanted to laugh SO bad, but I couldn’t. Goodness knows what the others thought, gloomy faced looking at me. I wanted to laugh out loud, but I thought they all would have thought I was nuts! So, I decided to go outside, but if I went out without telling the lady at reception, I would have lost my place, that I had got, from queuing up outside, ages before they opened!
I didn’t know how I was going to talk to her in the very small quite waiting room, but I just couldn’t hold it in any longer, so plucking up the courage, I went a few steps to the reception desk and in a squeaky, shaky high pitched voice I said to her, “I have to go outside, for a minute, it’s my book, I will be back.” She looked at me with a confused stare and said, “OK,” I went outside the door, which was like a corridor and putting my head back I laughed out loud! I couldn’t have cared less! The scene was too funny. I composed myself and went back in, with everyone staring at me. I didn’t lose my place, and carried on reading.
The Power of a Chapter!
People are like that, we meet some and their lives are bland, others we meet and their lives are good and uplifting and we leave their presence, feeling encouraged. Others we meet, and we just want to hug then to help ease their pain.
With the rise in social media, it seems, book reading has declined. I went on the bus recently, and everyone was on their phones, even if they were reading, which I doubt it, it is not the same as the actual book, and turning over that page, to eagerly read the next chapter!
