About an hour before I was due to leave the house for work, I was walking from one room to the next, when suddenly I felt a strong pain.
I looked to where the source of the pain was, it was my forefinger on the inside, which was an odd place.
Looking at my finger, I could see a burst blood vessel! As I am not a medical person, I assumed it was serious.
The pain was awful, I could see the blue vein protruding, that wasn’t there before.
I showed my husband, he said, “You need to go to the doctors now,” I replied, “I haven’t got time, I’m going to work in less than an hour.”
We were just about to leave to go to Tesco, I told Paul, “While I’m there I will go and see the Pharmacy, they will be able to give me advice.”
I made a beeline for the Pharmacy, I asked at the till, of the chemist, “Please can I speak to a pharmacy in private please?” She replied, “He can see you in five minutes.” I replied, “OK.”
Five minutes later, he came over to me, and unlocked the door and put the light on. He looked between twenty-five to thirty years old.
I told him what had happened and showed him my finger, which had gotten much worse now, it was almost black, he said, “That is a bruise.” I said, I’m about to go to work for twenty-four hours, what do you suggest I do?” Still looking at my finger he said, if it gets worse, or your finger swells up, you must go to the hospital.”
I said, “Should I be worried?” He said, “No, if it stays like that, keep an eye on it.” I replied, “Thank you.” I picked up my shopping basket, that I had left outside the door and went shopping.
At work, while waiting for the alarms to go off around England on our phones, I had a cup of tea, but was unable to hold my cup, due to the pain my forefinger. I improvised.
The following morning, when I looked at my finger, the bruising was ninety percent gone! By the time it was home time, it was all gone.
I don’t know what caused it, but I’m glad it all went away and quickly.

Gosh! What an extreme and sudden thing to happen! I am always bruising myself turning on the kitchen tap, could it have been that, do you think? I am glad your finger got better so quickly, and that your pharmacist was so knowledgeable :0)
