If You Go Down To The Woods Today ............. Part Two.

A lot of people were talking about the Government alarm, that would go off today at 3pm today.
I had decided to let my phone go off by not charging it. A work mate yesterday had turned off mine and her emergency SOS in our settings.
It was even announced in Church this morning, I was impressed with that.
None of us knew what to expect. It was strange after Church when my phone finally died, for lack of power. I went to Tesco, to get some cat food and lunch for me, so that I could have brunch before I came here to work.
For without my mobile, my Apple watch would have no internet, and no one would be able to contact me, nor me them.
I had been having a text conversation with an old friend, backwards and forwards, when my phone died. I don’t know what my friend must have thought when I didn’t then reply back, as I had been doing.
It was strange, as I was thinking, as I approached the self-service, check out, will my card work without my mobile? As now with it dead, there was a lot I could not do. Thankfully I don’t have my bank card on my phone, as I would only ever have a physical card for as long as I can. Nor do I want a card that I have to tap. I want to keep using my four digital numbers, for as long as I can.
My son was on his phone as I said, “My phone is off, dead until after I charge it at 4pm OK.” Daniel replied, “OK.”
At work, Christina was on her phone, and she mentioned it, the alarm. I said, “I have left my phone to die down to off, so that I will miss it.”
At 3pm on the dot, her phone alarm went off, we both read the info that came up on it.
Colleagues, at work yesterday and today, did say, “I am not happy with this, something isn’t right.” I agreed with them and said, “There is nothing we can do, nothing at all.”
I wondered what other people would be doing before the 3pm alarm. The Pastor at Church had told us all, “It is just a test, that is all, nothing to worry about.” Which I thought was nice. I was worried, if it would be a deafening sound, like too much, for me to bear, for that I would not like.
At just before 3pm Christina’s alarm went off, I half expected my watch to go off too, I had tried to let that go flat too but it still had 20 % power left in it.
At 3.10pm I decided it was OK to charge my mobile, suddenly without warning a VERY loud alarm went off on it, it was louder than Christina’s.
Another work mate said, “They will now be tracking us all now.” I don’t care if they track me or not.
It seems like there was a big fuss, over nothing? What was gained by it? Only the Government really know, and they won’t tell us.
A Visitor at work asked me, “Will there be another one?” I replied, “I don’t know.”
I wished They hadn’t told us about the alarm, but if they didn’t, we would have all thought we had been hacked! So, it’s just as well they forewarned us.
I assume, we can expect this Alarm, now, every year.
