Jack.

Yesterday, just before he arrived, I had a text to inform me that “Jack will arrive in 15 minutes.”

He arrived, and brought with him the parts that he knew he would need to repair our washing machine.

We have had this machine for 15 years, new because the engineer was unable to fix it.

Now it looked in a poor state! It also had rust on the side.

Jack was thorough. Under two hours he was finished. He said, “Most of your machine now has new parts, only your door and mechanism, is the same.” I asked, “Wouldn’t it have been better to give us a new washing machine?” Jack said, “No, because one part cost, £30, and so did another and other parts also cost £30, it all added up to less than what a new machine would cost.”

After he left, I noticed that we now had a new plug and lead, and all the sides were brand new! It was amazing. I knew we had a new drum, for that was one of the main things that he came to put in.

It was great, to have our machine back after 2 weeks of not having one.         

I put the first load in, and it was quiet when it was the spin time. It was like having a new machine. I hung the clothes outside in the sun.
