The Norm.

Many years ago, we had a dishwasher, eventually when it broke, we didn't get another one, as it made a big difference to our bill. It was a luxury item, there were more important things. Paul my husband became the dishwasher. He wasn't as 'good' as a dishwasher, but we were grateful. It was 'funny' when it was Father's Day and Paul didn't wash up, he had double the amount the next day.
About five years ago, Meghan our daughter bought us a dishwasher, it was fantastic, I mainly filled it up, then Paul and finally Meghan. Daniel asked me, "Can you show me how to do it?" As we work shifts his is different to mine, usually when I was at work so was he or when I was home, he was asleep. So that didn't happen. I did try a home video tutorial, but it wasn't the same.
On Saturday, as I was home alone writing my diary, it was quiet and I heard, pop, pop,pop I went into the kitchen where the dishwasher was on, and as I wondered what was happening, smoke and the very strong smell of burning was coming out from the machine!!!! I quickly turned it off at the mains and unplugged it, I was shaking. I was also gutted as it had only been on for ten minutes.
Back them it was a luxury item, now its an necessity! Meghan hadn't taken out insurance, she checked her emails.
Paul sprang into action, he did his homework, and today we will be going to Argos to get one, with insurance, it will be about £80 for three years, I don't think we need it, as they usually don't break down. I have a credit card, and don't use it very often, we will pay for it over six months, interest free.
For fifty pounds, they will deliver, install and take the old one, but we have to disconnect it and drain it first. I said to Paull, "I would not know the first thing about disconnecting it and the strength to drain it or to take it outside. My Mum would not be able to do that, nor would I. I am glad that I have got Paul to do that.
I am excited.
