Papers

We have all noticed a change in the items we buy since they have gone up. Some items have gone up considerably more than others. Kitchen paper used to be quite cheap, but now it is expensive. I have noticed if I am not careful, I will spend over the odds. It is also at times easy to stay in a supermarket and buy everything together. But no! I am fighting back.
I do my main shopping at Tesco, mainly due to my Clubcard, which I have had for years and use my vouchers when they are all collected and then given to me in November.
I think Tesco must be having a laugh, for their cheapest kitchen paper has gone through the roof. I have found a shop, that sells kitchen roll much cheaper and more in the packs. So, I have decided to go there now, only for just that item.
I know there are other shops in the town that will probably also sell them cheaper, but this shop is nearer to walk, but still out of my way. But it is worth it, to save £2, £3, and £4.
Tesco’s cheapest kitchen paper now is almost £3 we use a lot of in in our home, I find it more hygienic than kitchen towels which we also use. The kitchen towels, they are changed daily, the kitchen paper, simply throw away.
In this ‘new’ shop, that I go in, I go in only for kitchen rolls, and possibly for Golden Wonder crisps, as they are my favourite crisp brand. They have a security guard in there.
The security guard he stands near to where the kitchen papers are. I went in last week, and walked up to the kitchen papers, but when I got to them, I noticed that the cheaper ones had all gone, sold out, only the expensive ones, for £5 were left, so I left the shop.
I could see the little security guard watching me, he didn’t know why I walked in and walked out again, without buying anything.
Yesterday I went into the store again, I could see the security guard, standing about two yards from the kitchen papers, I walked past him and stood in front of the display.
This time, they had what I wanted, and for the correct price. One was a pack of three priced at £1.29 and the other a larger one pack, priced at £1.09 I was chuffed, I turned around to go to the till, to pay and the security guard was standing right behind me! He made me jump, as I didn’t expect him to be that close to me. I didn’t feel safe at all.
I calmed my nerves, and went and stood two yards from the kitchen papers I was now facing the wall. There were items lower down, on the floor, but I looked at the empty wall, he was standing right next to me on my left, then while I still looked at the empty wall, where there was no shelf, nothing for sale on this empty space, I moved to my left towards him, I took one step to my left, he also moved or I would have trod on him, then I took another step to my left still looking at the empty wall, it was a fascination wall! My third step would then mean he would be IN the kitchen paper shelves, so wisely he moved! I was then with my next move to my left with the kitchen papers on my left, still holding what I fully intended to pay for.
It always makes me smile, when security staff look at me, expecting to see a theft perhaps? For thieves come in all shapes, sizes, and colours, but while they are focusing on me, they could be missing the thief!
I’d had enough fun, then decided to go and pay for my kitchen paper, until the next time I go in there.
It did make me smile; I will try that again with him next time I am in there.
