Had the new gardener in recently, there were bags of grass, with other bags of rubbish that I had put in other rubble bags, I decided to take them all to the tip.
I didn’t realize our tip was open on Sundays. That was a pleasant surprise. So, the following day, I took them from the garden, and put all nine bags, in my car, it felt good to be rid of them. The garden looked fantastic.
On Monday, I was taking Daniel to work, on my way to Mums. Soon after we started on our journey, suddenly Daniel shouted, “A SPIDER!” Shaken, he said, “A large spider was crawling on the back of my hand, and I brushed it off.” We are both very scared of spiders, I drove to our large Tesco nearby and we got out of the car, it was getting dark, so we used our mobile phone torches to look around the car. There is a lot of stuff in my car, so it wasn’t easy to see where the large spider had now run off to.
After 5 minutes of looking, and we didn’t find it, we got back in the car. The atmosphere of the car journey had now changed, could it now be a matter of life and death? This was a serious situation to be in, for most of our journey would be on dual carriage ways. I had decided to make a conscious decision what I had to do, when I saw the dreaded spider.
I needed to be brave, for I didn’t want to kill myself, my son nor other drivers! I decided I would say to myself be calm and drive to the hard shoulder and calmly stop the car. That also depended on where the spider would appear from, if it was the dashboard, ok that’s ‘far away,’ but if it was to drop from above right in front of my eyes, now that would be a different kettle of fish.
No one, can know what they would do, if they were in the same position as myself on the fearful journey with my son and after I dropped him off at work.
I made it safely to my Mums and back, and thankfully I didn’t see it. I have wondered, if there was a gap in my car, for it to crawl out off? I know it came in on the bags from the garden.
I am sure, “A Thousand ways to Die,” That a spider in the car, was one of them. Hopefully he has walked himself out of my car, but I don’t see how he could have?
