The Press.

I decided to write today, I was going to write yesterday, but I had walked to the Town to buy a Christmas gift for my grandson, it was going to be a jumper but not a Christmas jumper but one that can be worn all year round. I had walked eleven thousand steps by the time I returned home and was dog tired and fell asleep.

My daughter Meghan was sitting next to me and she put on her Netflix, she had been flicking through to see what she would like to watch and she decided on Harry and Meghan! I didn’t say anything, but I was really hoping she would keep on flicking through to the other trailers, but she didn’t.

I was determined not to watch it, for it didn’t interest me. It was because of the Press I no longer liked Meghan! The Press had won, they had turned a lot of people against her and me too. The Press is powerful.

The Press was blamed for chasing Princess Diana to her death. Camellia had years of bad press, all negative, Katie has had only positive press. Meghan has had only bad and negative press.

I was glad that Harry and Meghan were at the funeral of the Queen, it was a relief that they were there. But things were not the same for Meghan according to the Press, she had wanted to go to another part of the palace, but was not allowed.

One of my brothers does not believe anything he reads in the Press. He like my husband only reads alternative news. When they talk to me, it’s like they are talking in unison, like one of the same, even though they haven’t seen each other for years, it can be Very deep, what they have to say.

Although I don’t like Meghan anymore, I don’t like to hear negative press about her. I thought if I was her, married to Harry, I would have stuck it out the, the fake ones behinds the scenes who didn’t like me and enjoy my new found fame, my new job role, my new title, my new home, visits around the world, meeting the Queen, the beautiful designer clothes, and hair always looking fabulous!

Kate did it, even when she wore that see through dress so that she would get noticed at university, it worked and she got noticed and got married to William.

Like Meghan Kate always looked amazing and well turned out. But whether we liked it or not Meghan is of Mixed Parentage, and that is what has made the huge difference! She is not white, and she was not brought up to be a princess with rich folks. That had to be addressed, it was no use burying my head in the sand.

The Press had a field day! They went to town! They pulled out all the stops! Really, she didn’t have a chance! Its ok for me saying stick it out, when I have worked with nasty people and they were more powerful than me, especially one horrible person. For Meghan to meet daily inside and outside, it must have been hell.

So, although I loved Meghan at first, and loved her wedding day and her Mum with Prince Charles with both women at his side, the Press was relentless! They give you one side, their side.

A good friend of mine, was still for Meghan, and I told her I wasn’t anymore, I found that odd as she is white. She had told me about the Netflix film that they had done and I had told her, “I’m not watching it, it does not interest me.” In my ignorant, mind I already knew what it was all about. It was all about her.

So, today as I sat to write, I was determined, not to watch it, but as I tried to write, I couldn’t help but watch. Apparently, it’s in three parts.

I watched the first part, and the second part and it was fantastic, it was nothing like I thought it would be. It made complete sense for them to tell their story for the first time. Harry talked about his Mum, and clips of his Parents and brother, some unseen videos of family life, and Meghan did the same, both have parents who were divorced when they were young, both of them like to help those less fortunate that themselves. it was a real eye opener, for me.

My daughter turned it off as Paul woke up and walked into the room, he Hates the Royals! So, I didn’t see how part two ended.

Before I had seen the film, I had thought they had burnt their bridges with the King and his brother forever, but clearly, I was wrong, maybe they haven’t? I hope not. I would like to think, the King will still offer them on olive branch of Peace. The Press is already saying, “They won’t be at the Coronation,” I hope they are.

My views about Camellia, still  hasn’t changed. 

But today, although I still do not like Meghan, my views about her have changed for the better, but the Press has done it’s worse and it has worked, they have blackened her name and character.

So, it is 10 – 0 to the Press.
