The Professor

When a child draws a house, they draw it from the front, with 4 windows 2 upstairs, 2 downstairs with a front door in the middle. There is always a chimney with smoke coming out of it.
When we think of a professor, or see one on telly, some of them have thick glasses on, buck teeth and very wild hair!
This week, when I was flicking through the telly, I stopped when I saw the name of a professor. In the past when I have seen his name, I have watched him for about 5 to 10 minutes then turn him over.
The only reason I have stopped to watch him, for 5 to 10 minutes, is because he is pleasing to the eye.
As there was nothing else on, and I hadn’t seen him for a while I decided to watch him.
It must have been just at the start, for I think I saw most of it.
He talked about Mars, Pluto, Tritons, obits, Neptune. He talked about, one spacecraft that took 9 years to arrive at its destination. “Kuiper belt world, has a very complex structure, and we don’t really understand it.”
“Past the Kuiper belt, we enter a realm of true darkness, all we see are the bright stars of the Milky Way, even our most powerful telescopes struggle to see anything in the solar system out here, but every now and then things do show up in the darkness. Then in 2018 a faint light was found, ten billion kilometres beyond the Kuiper planet, it is a dwarf plant nicknamed, FarFarOut, we think there is more out there, a lot, lot more out of the reach of our telescopes, it is so far away, it is almost impossible to imagine.”
“We tend to think of the solar system as the sun, but all the planets and moons, but as technology had improved, we have discovered more and more; our explorations of the solar system has only just began, we know we have only explored the tip of the iceberg the fraction of what is out there, most of the solar system lies at least for now way, just beyond our reach, but by just making some observations of a few comets and some asteroids and even captured moons by building, science it has captured moons that has ventured inwards from the outer solar system we have been able to tell the story of our solar system and by doing science, we have been able to tell a picture, it isn’t just a few planets and tell a story of a lonely star it is a vast structure that stretches outwards maybe halfway to the nearest star.”
When I watched this fantastic programme this week, I thought preach it brother, preach it! The graphics that also went with it just helped to try and show, just how huge it all is out there.
I often when our kids were young, would try to explain to them, God, and His world, that He created. Now it is ‘easy’ for people to knock God, and say He does not exist.
The Bible describes, the Earth, if He were to put it on His scales, “It would be like froth on a scale.” That is how tiny our Earth is. Professor Brian Cox, who I mentioned above, he talked about their telescopes, tiny little mankind, on their tiny little Earth, that they didn’t make, it would be impossible, for them to see all that God has created.
I often compared us to God like an ant to us. I would say, “Dose that ant know about the Queen? Does that ant know, from here the living room, that the bathroom is over there? Does the ant know our neighbour Mary? Does the ant know how to go to the bank, or to go abroad? Does the ant, know about, cars and healthy eating?” The answer is a resounding no to everything! It is impossible for that tiny little ant to know about the whole of our living room, let alone the whole of our huge massive house. Even if it were to make huge telescopes, it would not be able to see very far with them; it is limited, to its tinyness, (I know that is not a real word, but it is my word for today).
There are billions of other worlds out there, many moons’ planets, stars. As clever as mankind is, not one person has been able to make a planet like beautiful Earth. And yet on this very tiny planet, none of us can live in Peace. Everyone is fighting someone and something, it feels like to me 80% of the Earth now, there is war and no Peace. It all seems now out of control. Thank God, He has made His Earth, given us a Map of how to find Him, The Bible and when He is ready, He will put a stop to it all, and there is nothing we can do about it, the end times that we are in now, is already recorded in Daniel, Joel, and the famous Revelation. People can deny or ignore God for now, but not for long.
He has the whole world in His Hand.
