TRANS. Part Two.

I was very pleased with my alternative dressing gown, I had followed the trend and had bought one of those, that I had to pull over my head, first thing in the mornings. I had bought it for a good price too.
There were too many drawbacks, in the Summer when I put it on, it was far too hot! When I had a hot flush, it was very uncomfortable, it had no openning, to help cool me down.
In the mornings in the pitch dark bedroom, trying to find my way through it from the top to the bottom, just so I was able to get it over my head, was too much. Once it was on, it was ok.
I persevered with it, as I had thrown away my trusted but tatty dressing gown, that my daughter had bought me many years ago. It had more than done the trick, it had kept me warm, and toasty in the Winter, with its long length, pockets and huge hood, the cross over on the front with the added little ribbons on the inside, meant it would not open as it had a double warm security. I did look a sorry sight with it, for I had somehow lost the bit that went around my waist, and was using a different coloured 'string' and it wasn't brilliant white anymore. So, it was time for a new one. I chose one of those trendy pullover versions.
In the TKMaxx sales next month, this will all change, I will be looking for a dressing gown to replace this one. I tried the new way, and didn't like it, its back to the traditional style.
The transition, from a dressing gown, to a pullover one, did not work for me. I will still keep it, for when the nights are bitter cold, will sleep with it over my PJ's and with its lovely hood, I will be as snug as a bug in a rug.
It will be perfect, because now for health reasons, I don't use a hot water bottle anymore.
