WATCH.

There are two types of people in this world.
I am one, my Husband is another.
Last week Tuesday when I went to visit my Mum, many miles away, it wasn’t until I came back home, that I realized to my horror, that I had left my watch there charging!
I have worn a watch since I was twelve years old.
Back then, they were wound ups, and if you didn’t wind it up, at bed time, you had no time in the morning. So, it was not something you would ever forget.
Later on, they would have a battery in, luxury; no need to wind up.
Over the years I have had various types of watches. I’ve had a Casio watch, a Timex, those silver coloured watches, with a silver coloured strap, I have had leather strap watches. I’ve had a Swatch watch.
As a left hander, to me a watch is the one main thing that is left-handed. To wind a watch up, you need to do it with your right hand, and it is great, as it would be odd if a watch was made for the right-hand, with the winder to be done with my left hand.
Then a few years ago, I had a second-hand Samsung watch, bought from a colleguge at work. I loved that different type of watch, but after about six months it didn’t work.
It was then I started looking at iPhone watches, I saw the word series and didn’t understand it, so I asked Meghan, who is the Media Queen in our home, “What does that mean? Because I want to buy one.”
Meghan said, “Don’t buy one Mum, I am buying you one for Mother’s Day.” She bought it from the iPhone shop, and for me, it is one of the Best inventions. I love it! it is a bit like a mini version of my iPhone but better!
It has a Walkie Talkie, I tried it out once, with my Manager. It was in Lockdown time, I knew that after work (as we still had to go to work in lockdown) he was going to have his hair cut after work, and I told him, “I will talk to you when you are in the barbers.” The radius that it will go to in distance is a whopping twenty-five miles! He was about fifteen miles from me, and we were able to use just our iPhone watches to talk to each other, it was amazing! It didn’t cost us anything. I don’t know how it works.
I can talk on my watch, when I am driving, both my hands on the steering wheel, and the other person does not know that I am driving.
I can answer my watch instead of my phone, and have a conversation that way.
I can ask, it any question, and at the end when I say to the watch, “Thank you,” It will reply, “You’re welcome,” Or “No problem.”
There is a live map that comes on my watch, when I set it on my mobile, a map is essential, for me, as my middle name is ‘lost.’
All Breaking news comes up on my watch.
I have set my watch to vibrate when I have a text or a phone call.
It shows how many steps I do a day, always aiming for 10,000, some days I do less, some days I do 18,000.
When I returned from my once in a life time holiday to Malta, I chose 25 photos that I loved from there, and put them on my watch, and each time I look at my watch, I see a different photo. That is the BEST thing about my iPhone watch.
As with all modern watches, in England, there is no need to change the times when the clocks go backwards and forwards each year. Unlike my car clock, it stays the wrong time for six months of the year, and then when the clocks change, it is the right time for six months. A family member unplugged it, and has put my watch in a safe place.
I miss my watch SO much! Having worn a watch since my youth and now I am in my 60’s to not have a watch, I feel lost without it.
I will be getting my watch again next week Tuesday when I go to my Mum’s home.
Paul used to wear his watch, even sleep in it! I have never known anyone who has done that. Then with one thing and another, he hasn’t worn a watch for about five years! I asked him just, “Do you miss it?” He replied, “Yes.” So that needs sorting. He said, “I still look at my wrist now to see the time.”
Roll on Tuesday.
