The 2014 John Lewis Christmas advert

I like visiting new cities at Christmas
I keep the first weekend of every December free
and I'll go somewhere I've never been before.
What better way to see somewhere new.
People in their knitwear and toggled up in winter coats
dislays in department store windows.
and I will always stop someone on the street.
"Excuse me. I'm new in town.
Tell me be the place I could spend my evening here"
and I'll spend the evening in the bar they recommend
hoping I'll bump into them again
that they'd say 'Hey. We should head to that bar
to see if that guy in the LED Rudolph jumper is still there
and they would find me surrounded by perfectly chosen presents
and long rolls of wrapping paper
looking like I'm posing for the 2014 John Lewis Christmas advert
as the jukebox plays Slade and Wham
the barmaid sings along to every word
her nose all bunged up. "I'm so tired,"
she says, hanging up some fairy lights
"but I just love Christmas."
