Dear Sir

Dear Sir
I am writing to say how sorry I am at the way I treated you when you
came round last week. I should not have used the phrase 'Over my dead
body' when you requested my daughters hand in marriage. The words
unsuitable, disgrace and misfit were ? ill advised. I regret shouting
at my daughter, saying she would never be welcome in the house again,
that her grandfather would be turning in his grave at the thought of
'him' joining our family. I shouldn't have thrown you out of the house,
knowing full well you had nowhere to stay. It was wrong of me to
threaten to break your legs, worse of me to begin the proceedings. I
have had time to ponder, to reflect on my actions and my wife and I
have decided it would be an honour for you to join our family.
Yours sincerely, your future father in law.
PS
Congratulations on your recent National Lottery win.
