Every day or nearly every day

I walk around Waterlook Park and nearly always
there will be someone else walking in the opposite
direction, we'll have arrived at roughly the same time
at different gates, and they'll go clockwise and I'll go
the other way and it's reassuring to have this synchronicity,
it's not the same if there's not someone else who has made
the same decision today, to come to the park, and walk
around the gravel perimiter three or four times.
When I drink on my own the last thing I do before going to bed
is to wash up the wine glass and put any bottles in the recycling
it's good to wake up and not to think about all of that.
I like getting out of bed and immediately focus
on the most exciting thing that will happen that day,
today I will rewatch a film I love because I keep thinking
about the music played during the end credits and now
I am older than the main characters so it's mostly
a completely different film now.
