The girl at Glastonbury

I spent the day covered in mud
trying to find us some firewood
it was June but more like Winter
and i ended up covered in splinters
yeah I missed all my favourite bands
sorting out the night I had planned
and now I wanna know why
you ended up leaving me high and dry.
How could you resist that 3am air
my filthy face and dirty hair
and after all that rum and coke
after I'd told you all my favourite jokes
and now I wanna know
how you resisted me in my poncho
I had just been so intent
on getting you into my tent
It makes me wish i hadn't bought
so many bottles of Carlsberg Export
and all those cans of Special Brew
I bought them especially for you
but I knew that you would disappoint
the look you gave me when i lit up a joint
and you took offence
because i went for a wee against a fence
and you told me i was thick
cos i drink so much cider I was sick
Yeah I knew it was over
When i started to feel sober
and my last can of beer had gone flat
I'd realised I'd lost my new hat
we ended up having a fight
and then I knew it wasn't going to be my night
Would it really have been so appauling
to try and get you under my tarpaulin?
But when i came back from the burger van
you'd gone off with another man
and my feelings stayed concealed
in the muddy glastonbury field.
