I never thought it would happen

The PE teacher spends every lesson focussing

on overhead kicks. For the whole lesson

they lay on their backs, trying to score the perfect goal.

Inside, their English teacher refuses to teach anything

other than similes. It's all they've done for an hour

before lunch, Monday to Friday, for five years. 

They are able to express their frustration

in so many different ways.

The man in the shop near me practises the trumpet.

He plays from the moment the morning newspapers

have been sorted until selling the last four pack

of beer at 11 pm. 'I really like playing

the trumpet,' he tells people who ask

why he is always playing the trumpet.
