I wonder how I'll sleep at night

It's been a long time since I had an all-nighter but I remember them well.
We wouldn't even mention the sun was rising, we were so used to it,
midnight disappearing behind us like a three-wheeler on a motorway.
I used to stay up until the stupid hours, writing or watching things
I'd look at my watch and think that's funny to see 3.
When I was little I wondered what it would be like to be grown up
and now I'm grown up I wonder what it will be like to be older
and that's why it's hard when my dad talks to me about his age
and the future because it's impossible to say anything other than
yeah. You're right. Sometimes there is no cajoling. You have to say
yes that will happen. There is no rule about going to bed
and maybe that's the strangest thing about being older.
The first time I stayed up until midnight we all looked
at 00:00 on our Casio watches
and immediatenly went straight to sleep.

"midnight disappearing behind us like a three-wheeler on a motorway."
Cracking line.
I like your gentle reflection.
