A trip to the cardiologist

Pads pressed down on stomach flabs and told to
relax and take normal breaths and I close my eyes
because it might hurt but when the pattern on the machine
is your face and the doctor says I think we've got to the root
of this problem.
I've never had health issues before but my heart
is falling apart. Some people aren't able to deal with
heavy things and emotionally I'm trying to carry
a grand piano under each arm up to the top floor
and no-one helps. No-one helps.
'Is it like etch a sketch?' i ask the cardiologist.
The face on the machine is laughing at me
and then gets bored and carries on oblivious.
'Everything is etch a sketch' the cardiologist tells me.
'Just keep breathing. Try not to hurt too much.'

This I love for its use of
This I love for its use of 1980's kids toys, a unique metaphor for a knackered ticker and I also like it's blunt tone running through it like a heart murmur.
