A series of postcards of mountain ranges,

the Appalachians and the Southern Alps,

all of them stamped and posted to an address

in Glasgow’s Southside, the bit where you write

‘Hello, here I am,’ left blank every time,

each mountain photographed by an

exhausted freelancer with a tripod, for sale

rotating on a stand outside a café with Coca Cola

umbrellas. Maybe they are still appearing

at the address in Glasgow, mountain

after mountain, landing on the doormat

of the top of a tenement flat.
