Outside in the street the carpet of winter had come . Bo-Bo looked out the window and thought how heavy the first snow fall was . He also though how good it was because his garden looked the same as everybody else’s .

- What to do today , he thought . He sipped on a cup of tea and then he decided he would go and have a bit of fun with Charlie .

He dressed quickly and made his way around to Charlies house .
It was about six in the morning and as Bo-Bo walked up the street to Charlies house he looked back and saw he had left the first footprints in the snow in the street . It was a nice feeling to have made the first impression of life on winters white blanket .

When he arrived at Charlies house he stood underneath Charlies bedroom window . He called out a few times but got no reply . He called a little louder waking the people next door before he rolled up a few snowballs and threw them at the window pane .

Charlie eventually opened the window to see what was going on .

“Come on Charlie . I want to show you some thing .“
Said Bo-Bo standing on the pavement below .

Charlie yawned and said ,
“Bo-Bo what time is it ?”

‘It’s time we were on our way Charlie hurry up . Get some clothes on before its too late .”
Bo-Bo replied .

“Too late for what .“
Charlie asked

“Too late for a date with the a few pretty girls.“

Charlie closed the window and was out the front door almost immediately . There he stood in at half six in a half daze , half dressed and still half asleep with a half puzzled look on his face .

“Where are we going Bo-Bo ?”
He said .

“No where with you in those pink fluffy slippers Charlie . For goodness sake go and put some decent shoes on your feet .“

“Oh Ok Bo-Bo. “
Charlie said making a fist and stretching his arms up in the air .
When he returned Bo-Bo said .
“Follow me “

Bo-Bo walked down the street so fast that Charlie had trouble keeping up with him . Finally Bo-Bo stopped outside the corner shop and started to climb up the drainpipe .Then he scrambled up to the roof . Charlie followed and was soon up there with Bo-Bo looking down on the street below .

Charlie looked at Bo-Bo for a few moments and then he said ,
“Is this what you want to show me Bo-Bo ?”

‘Bo-Bo shook the snow from his hat and said ,
“Everybody will soon be on their way to the factory . “

Charlie was not amused ,
“What are you on about Bo-Bo”

“Listen Charlie . When was the last time you saw snow this thick ?”
Bo-Bo asked .

Charlie had to think for a moment and replied .
“This thick . I don’t think I’ve ever seen it this thick .“

“Exactly .”
Bo-Bo said .

A few moments passed . Charlie was still none the wiser . He looked at Bo-Bo who was watching the street below .
“Bo-Bo I know the snow is thick but what are we doing up here at the crack of dawn on the roof of the corner shop “

“Its wake up time man . Look the snow is thick and we are going to have some fun . Here they come Charlie . Lets go .“

Bo-Bo began to push all the snow over to the edge of the roof . Charlie was helping him but still hadn’t a clue what he was doing .
“Wait for my signal Charlie “
Bo-Bo said .

The first group of factory workers passed by with caps and overcoats then down the street they came . A group of young girls arm in arm on their way to work for the first time . B0-Bo could hardly keep a straight face with the anticipation of what was about to happen . He waited until the girls were directly underneath the roof of the shop and then gave the signal .
He started pushing an avalanche of snow over the edge and with Charlies help they had managed to push a good dump of snow over the unsuspecting
passers by who were screaming and crying . The young girls were soaked to the skin and had to return home for a change of clothes .
Bo-Bo and Charlie were buckled over in fits of laughter and waited for their next victims to pass by .

“That was a laugh Bo-Bo . You must have been sitting up all night thinking about that one .
Said Charlie .

”There’s only enough snow left on the roof for maybe one more good dump Charlie so lets get all that snow over to the edge .
Bo-Bo said .

After a few moments, they were ready to go again . The next group of young girls were now in line of fire . On Bo-Bo’s signal they were dumped over with a fair pile of snow . The girls were furious . In all the fun and mayhem Bo-Bo hadn’t seen was the police van that had been sitting opposite watching the carry on . Somebody must have informed on them . Three big police men left the van and were making their way to the corner shop . Bo-Bo spotted them and told Charlie to run for it . By the time Charlie had understood what was going on, Bo-Bo had slid down the drainpipe and was half way home . Poor Charlie was so surprised to see the police climb up the drainpipe that he said ,

“Sorry officers there’s no snow left . You will have to come back tomorrow .”

Bo-Bo watched from the distance as Charlie was escorted to the police van and taken away . He felt guilty and didn’t know what to do . He went home and had some breakfast and thought about how he could help Charlie . After he changed clothes he went to the phone box in town and rang the police .

“Hello could I speak to the officer in charge . “
There was a long silence .

“ This is the officer in charge . What can I do for you ?”
Came the reply .

“I am the youth worker at Boscos Boxing and I was wondering if you could tell me what happened to the young man who got arrested this morning for dumping snow on the heads of some young girls ?”

“That young fool jumped out the back of the police van and we haven’t seen him since . Do you know who he was. “
The police officer said .
“No sir I can’t tell you that . I was hoping you might have known who he was as I was wanting to punish him myself . But mark my words officer if I find out who he was you’ll be the first to know . I’ll have him sweeping out every path in the village to teach him a lesson .”
Bo- Bo said convincingly .

“Thank you . What did you say your name was again .“
The police man said .

“I didn’t . But I am known as Bo-Bo .”
Was the reply .

“Thank you Bo-Bo . Its good to know that there are people like you out in the community . The young ones today have all gone silly . They all need a good kick in the backside if you want my opinion Bo-Bo “
The Police officer said .

‘Well if I find out who that fella was I’ll give him a good kick for you .“
Bo-Bo said trying to keep from bursting out in a fit of laughter .

“I’d appreciate that .“
Said the police man .

“Goodbye sir .”
Bo-Bo said .

The conversation closed and Bo-Bo hung up the phone and headed off to find Charlie . It didn’t take him long to find him . There was Charlie sitting in the back of a coal truck making its way through the street . He looked like as if he had just gone ten rounds with Mohammad Ali . Bo-Bo followed the coalman and waited until Charlie jumped off the truck and then slowly crept up behind him and gave him a kick up the backside . Charlie let one scream go and then he spun around . Shaping up his two fists he dropped then again as Bo-Bo faced the challenge .
“I told the police officer I’d give you a good kick when I found you .“
Said Bo-Bo .

Charlie spat on the ground .
“Bo-Bo . What’s going on . One minute we’re best friends and the next thing I know you’re kicking me up the backside .
Charlie said .

“All hero’s get a kick in the arse . Don’t you know that Charlie ?”
Bo-Bo said .

“Oh sure I know that . I was just testing to see if you knew that .“

“Now tell me all what happened after the police found you on the rooftop of the corner shop Charlie ?”
Bo-Bo said .

“Well it was like this . The first police man climbed up on the roof . Right away I went into combat mode ?”
Charlie said with a great gusto in his voice .

“Combat mode Charlie . Tell me more .“
Bo-Bo asked

“I never wasted any time Bo-Bo . I struck first and knocked the biggest police man to the ground . When he tried to get up I pinned to the ground while the other two rushed me .“

“Pinned with what Charlie ?”
Bo-Bo asked .

Charlie continued .
“Pinned with my left foot in his jugular and still balanced and ready for the other two . I pivoted and let fly with a low roundhouse sweep and brought the two police men to the ground .”

“This is something I’ll have to remember Charlie .”
Bo-Bo said .

“That’s not all Bo-Bo . I gave those cops something to remember me by .
You should have seen me move . After they got up on their feet I swung an uppercut to the jaw of the biggest police man and with a shimmy to the left I threw this wicked combination and the three cops ran away back to their van like three scaled cats .“
Said Charlie without taking a breath or looking Bo-Bo in the eyes .

“That’s not what I heard Charlie .“
Bo-Bo said .

“What do you mean Bo-Bo ?

“Ah never mind . I’m so proud of you Charlie . Jumping out of the Police Van and making a run for freedom . I never thought you had it in you “
Bo-Bo said .

“Who told you I jumped out “
Charlie said .

‘It was on the midday news Charlie .“
Bo-Bo replied .

“You’re kidding aren’t you Bo-Bo ? “
Said Charlie .

“Yea Charlie . Come on lets go . I’ll buy you the first pint .“
Bo-Bo said .

“You’re on .“

They both made their way to the local and sat all night with Charlie telling everybody about his scuffle with the law .
