The Cross Could Not Resist

On Thursday and the darkest hour,

in the garden Jesus prayed

I can almost see His face and hear the words that He said

Let this cup pass me by  but not for my own sake

But Father  let thy will be done the disciples were awake

He was led away by soldiers , betrayed with a Judas kiss

His life to be a sacrifice the cross could not resist .

 

On Friday as the earth went dark upon the cross He hung

Jesus sighed and in His final breath He said , It is done

The moment Jesus died for us the victory was won    .

They stood around and said this man was surely God’s own son .

Jesus died to save the world with such a love as this

he paid the ultimate sacrifice the cross could not resist .

 

On Sunday Jesus rose again before ascension day

The darkness had been shattered and his light became the way .

His truth will live forever , his word will never change

The Apostles wrote the gospels , no one can rearrange .

Jesus took away the fear from deaths dark  abyss  ,

the greatest love of all the cross could not resist .

The wonderful truth that is so much ignored! Especially liked the lines —

The darkness had been shattered and his light became the way .
