A Holiday For Hyman

Part 2

 

.The red head pushed her way through the front door of the Hotel and went to a room on the ground floor . Moments later the young girl came out of the room dressed in a hotel uniform where she went to the reception area and checked the guest book . The hotel manager was busy organizing the arrival of some new guest that had previously booked in . The red haired girl took note of the room Hyman was given and grabbed spare key from under the counter . The hotel manager never saw a thing as he was busy talking tio the new guests .

 

“ Here you are Mr and Mrs  Cohen . Your key to room twenty with a double bed , a bath and shower , digital smart TV , free Wi Fi, and room service . I’m sure you will be very happy there . Enjoy your stay with us .”

Hyman was already in his room as the red head in her maids uniform knocked on his door .  He opened up the door and she walked straight inside his room .

“Just checking everything is all right sir “

She said and Hyman replied .      

:Thank you everything is fine .“ 

The red head almost overpowered Hyman with offers of assistance, firing questions at him until Hyman’s   head was going around with her constant pleas .

“Can I get you a drink ? What about some super , maybe I can help you unpack  your bag ? I have today’s newspaper if you’d like . Can I run you a nice bath sir ?”

Hyman was stunned with the welcome and he sat down on the chair and replied .

“Well I would like to see the paper but I can unpack my own bag and yes  thank you and a light supper would be nice . Maybe a sandwich and a  cup of tea . If you could run me a hot bath I’d be very grateful and if I need anything else I’ll let you know .”

No sooner had he spoken and it was seen to . The red haired maid went into the bathroom and turned on the water tap before leaving the room . She returned quickly with a sandwich , cup of tea and a newspaper  on a tray .  She placed them on a table in Hymans room and checked the bathtub before leaving the room .

Into the shadows on the corridor the red haired girl waited until she heard Hyman splashing the water in the bath . She opened the door with the spare key and sneaking quietly in the door the red head opened a few drawers and checked the wardrobe , She went through the pockets of Hymans suit . Checking under the pillow on the bed and looking under the mattress , blankets .
Hymn was enjoying his bath singing his cares away  .
The redhead found Hymans wallet under the rug near his bed . She opened the wallet and almost choked when she saw how much money was there .

She took everything and put the wallet back under the rug then opened the door quietly and left the room .

The redhead was gone from the hotel in a few minutes .
Hyman got out of the bath abd out in the robe to have his supper . The tea was cold so he rang room service for a fresh pot . The maid who brought Hyman a fresh pot of tea was much older and spoke differently . Hyman asked about the very friendly red haired girl who had helped him settle in  .

“Sorry sir . My name is Bridie and we have no red haired girl works here .”

She said . Hyman sensed something was not right . He was uneasy and asked ,

“So there’s no girl with red hair who works here ?”

“That’s right .“
Came the reply .

He looked at the rug near the bed and alarm bells started ringing . He rushed over and lifted back the rug . Opening his wallet he screamed .

“Bitch ! “

“There’s no need to talk like that sir .”
Said Bridie who was shocked to see Hyman throwing things around the room .

His outburst continued .

“That bloody red haired bitch ! ”

He rushed down the stairs in his bathrobe to the reception .
His face was red with rage . The manager at reception could see there was something wrong and said .

“Is everything all right sir  ?”

Hyman tried to remain calm and said .

“ I’ve been robbed .”

The manager tried to speak gently to Hyman who was arguing and screaming with him at reception . The manager was trying to explain that the hotel never had a redhead who worked there . Other staff came to assist the manager .

All of the staff agreed .

“We don’t have anyone with red hair working in this hotel .”

Hyman was getting a little upset and started to shake . The manager tried to settle him and placed his hand on his shoulder and said ,
“Calm down sir .”

Hyman grabbed him by the throat and yelled .
“I’ll tell you what’s wrong .”
His voice echoed all through the hotel  .
Some of the other residents were disturbed and came out of their room .
There they saw the manager of the hotel pinned against the wall by Hyman who continued to scream .

“I’m only in this bloody country less than a few hours  and I’ve been robbed of every thing I had by a maid who was wearing one of your uniforms .”

“Please sir . There must be some mistake . ”
The manager said .

“There is no mistake except for the mistake I made coming to this hotel .”
Hyman furiously answered  as he grabbed some things from the reception counter . He completely lost it and started to throw ashtrays and telephones , brochures and phones everywhere . He smashed a glass door with a paper weight and in a fit of temper Hyman pushed the manager to the floor .

“I think you should let him go .” Said a security man who approached .
As he reached out to pull Hyman’s hands away from the managers throat Hyman let go a right uppercut that caught the guard by surprise knocking him to the floor . Some of the other guests entered and pulled Hyman away .

Hyman was carried out from the hotel by security as the manager went to speak with him  .

“I’ll forget about the damage to the glass door and everything else . I will have your belongings out shortly . I’m not going to charge you for the time you have spent here in my hotel but you will not be allowed back in this establishment so I’d appreciate it if you could move away from here and find somewhere else to stay .“

Hyman was stunned .
“I want my money back . I want everything that was taken from me .“

One of the staff handed the manager Hyman’s overnight bag and clothes . The manager threw them at Hyman and said ,

“Oh when you get dressed leave the bathrobe outside the door if you would .
Now please move along before I call the Garda .”

Hyman took his things and said
“You have not seen the last of me .”

The manager replied ,
“We have had freeloaders like you before . We are not stupid here in this country . Now please if you don’t mind the paying guests here do need to get some sleep . So hit the road .”

Hyman clenched his fist and replied ,
“You be hearing more about this .”

“Enjoy your stay in our country .” Came the harsh reply .

Hyman took off the bathrobe and threw it at the manager . He dressed in his own clothes and walked away towards town .
