Faith Alone
By Paul McCann
I believe you care for me ,
in a world that won’t go away .
I will live until I die
and struggle more and more each day .
Keep the flame within your heart
and remember my love is true ,
somehow in all the despair I have
I know I’ll make it through .
So I’ll live inside an empty room
until the day I die,
where no one can ever talk to me
or see the tears I cry .
For in this world I don’t belong ,
a stranger with what I see .
I’m waiting for the gates of heaven
to open up for me .
Sweet mother of Jesus , ask your son
to listen to my prayer
for I’m not sure if he hears me ,
as I hear no no answer there .
I’ve been abandoned with my faith
without hope or charity ,
to the dark night of my soul where
there is no glory to be .
I will walk the streets alone
and I will talk to one but you,
Even though you might not understand
the things I have to do .
I have found in life there’s nothing more than suffering and pain ,
but nothings really changed that much
and I think of you again .
I ask that you would save a place dear Mother within your heart ,
Hold me near for my fear is that something would break us apart .
I’ll not let go of what I know
to be true above all else ,
I will live and die knowing you
and the faith within myself .
