Halloween Night

Halloween Night

Halloween is when I walked unseen around the street ,

knocking doors dressed up like a ghost underneath a sheet ,

there were others with false faces on Halloween night ,

we were so young and innocent

and filled with delight .

We shared ghost stories and sang songs

and we stayed up late ,

we ate toffee apples , fairy floss and apple cake .

It was Halloween night

and the goose had got so fat

and we even put a penny in the old man’s hat .
