Love Pirates

Flying the high mast was the Flag Of Two Hearts, entwined together by a single gold chain and a lock. The image was the symbol and way of life of the Love Pirates, also known as the Desperados of the Deep.
For many years they were guilty of being romantic, ruthless and unstoppable in their quest to find love. They had managed to capture both wild natives and elegant ladies who were swayed and swept off their feet for a voyage of a lifetime away from civilised society. On a ship that cruised the seven seas the Love Pirates were fondly welcomed by many women but feared by men who were jealous and uncomfortable about the attraction some women had for these pirates.
Daily surveillance on the shores of many lands had managed to prevent some girls finding their way to the seven seas with a motley crew of young men, drinking rum and hoisting their flag of twin hearts on high with its carefree image of love against the wind and under an open sky.
Once upon a time lives on with this new era of love piracy.
Welcome to the wild world of men chasing women in unchartered waters where each voyage is filled with mystery and romance.
After each journey is complete the crew are allowed to leave only if they have captured the heart of a lady who voluntary came on her own free will on the voyage to find true love.
This journey embarks with the promise of a lifetime together and hopefully ends with two people locked together forever in love.
The experience of each voyage is unplanned and often finds mayhem and madness as love pirates and their pirate girls find each other.
The Captain and crew have a moral code that works for the benefit of all on board. Life on board the good ship Sanctuary is peaceful for most of the time and there is always a port on many strange shores to accommodate the Captain and crew.
During the day the pirates have to work hard as daily duties have to be carried out. Some of them had teeth missing; others had scars on their faces and wrinkles that told of the harsh life they had led. A few were baldy; some wore bandanas over their heads.
During the night the cook has been issued the task of presenting a passionate meal for everyone and for those who are attached to someone a separate table with candles and romantic music thrown in is on offer.
Dancing and moonlight strolls on the upper deck are often another pursuit for couples who need another enticement to find love.
The love pirates are by no means handsome but their hearts are good and kind and they know how to treat women with respect.
Many times love is there in a subset or over the horizon if you have time to look for it.
Now it is the hour and this voyage begins with the crew and a ship of travellers who are about to spent some precious moments in different places around the world.
As the Sanctuary sailed out from the quay a harsh voice screamed from the dock.
“Why are you going with him a dirty old weather-beaten pirate with a long straggly black beard? What has he got that I haven’t. I’ve got land and a house and servants to wait on you?”
A girl on the ship shouted back from the deck,
“I’d rather have a love pirate any day than your money. Keep your house and your servants. I’m going were you’ll never find me or trap or abuse me anymore. “
There was a man standing on the deck about six and a half feet tall and built like a mountain. He threw dagger that landed right at the feet of the man who stood on the deck.
Then he grabbed the girl and kissed her full on the lips and then said.
“She’s my lady now and if you have a problem with that then come on board and we’ll sort it out otherwise go back tot your fancy life and all the servants too.”
Another woman shouted from dock,
“Miram, what on earths gotten into you. Your Father and I have brought you up proper and gave you everything you’ve ever wanted. The best schools and the finest clothes and now here you are running off with some scoundrel of a pirate who wouldn’t know who you are.”
The young girl on deck was tall with a frail frame and spoke softly but with authority and power.
“One day I’ll try to explain Mother. Please don’t worry. Ill is ok.”
Her love pirate friend shouted back.
“I’m sure you’ll see the error of your ways. You don’t own her and for what its worth I know more about your daughter that you might think .You never listened when she said you were too possessive and you never heard when she begged you to let her have a life of her own. You’ve got to realise people must become themselves and not a product or a plastic image of what you want. If you love her then let be the person she has to be. Give her freedom and she will return to you a woman and not a prisoner of self.”
Another man on the dock screamed at another lady on board the ship. He threw a bottle at the ship and said.
“If you ever show your face around here again I promise you you’ll swing for what you’ve done. “
Next thing the lady took a small bag from her coat and threw it back at him.
“Here’s your money back. I’m sorry I robbed you, please forgive me.”
The gentleman on the dock looked shocked and scooped up the bag and emptied out all its contents. He started to up all the money.
Her love pirate friend shouted,
“If I ever see you near this lovely lady or I hear you’ve been talking about her to anybody I swear I’ll personally make sure you’ll be hung drawn and quartered. Go about your business and stay out of her life if you value your own. ”
There was a priest who stood on the dock, he shouted,
“May the winds that travel with you guide you on your way and let the sun on the horizon fill your eyes with peace.”
“Who is that?”
Asked one of the girls to her pirate friend on board.
“He used to be one of us. Long ago.”‘
She spoke.
”Why did he leave your way of life.”?
”Well he found a love none of us ever will.”
“How do you mean ?”
She asked.
“God touched his heart they say. He suddenly became quiet and not like the rest of us. He even lost his desire to chase after girls.”
He started to cry and his girl softly said,
“Don’t tell me you’re miss him that much.”
He replied,
“Oh sorry, its just he was the best cook ever had. He used to give me all the left over food.”
She laughed so loud and as the ship sailed away from the shore the sun sank in the horizon.
Who knows what lies ahead for these people but one thing is for sure, love will find a way.
The End
