 A Reason To Live

City born , city bred , is what they both had in common .  Jack and Brenda first met at a work colleagues  party and afterwards they started dating regularly .

Jack loved her like no other before and he treasured every moment that they shared,  until she allowed another man  into her life .

 

Jack first suspected there was a problem when he saw some photos on her mobile phone of a man wearing skimpy swimwear on a beach . They had never been to a beach and recently she had been working lots of extra shifts in her job .

Then he noticed some new  jewellery items in her bedside drawers . It all seemed strange to him . 

Suspecting the worst he hired  a private eye to do some investigations .

While this was happening he noticed many changes in her behaviour and she was often short tempered and distant towards him .

Then the private eye contacted him about the evidence he had captured with his camera that clearly showed she was having an affair with another man .

The day the private eye brought the photos for him to look at  , 

he was shattered and just kept 

walking around in circles ,

muttering to himself .

 

“I can’t believe that she would do this to me . Look at the way she lets him hold her . After all I’ve done for her, how could she let this happen , all the  years we’ve spent , meant nothing   “

mThe private eye presented all the information he had discovered . The place where his wife’s liver was living , who he was and where he worked then before he  concluded presenting all the facts he shared some words of consolation and was paid well for all the work he had done .

 

Now that he had the proof she had been unfaithful to him he planned how to get revenge .

He found hope in the fact another lady had shown some  interest in him which made him feel that he was still able to be loved .

When he first discovered the love of his life had cheated on him it made him feel negatively about himself and in his heart , he tried to forget all the awful things he thought about himself .

It wasn’t easy to just walk away because of many reasons , the investments they had made  , the house they owned and the thoughts of a divorce settlement worried him that’s when he thought about revenge in another way and began to consider killing them both .

He began to think through what he could do which then gave 

him a reason to end his suffering and make  a brand new start with another lady .

His first thought of killing them with the gun he had purchased soon gave rise to the thought of torturing them with a slow a painful death which was for him a better choice because of all

the  hurt and anger they had brought into his life .

He kept remembering all the good times Brenda and himself had once had and couldn’t cone to terms with what’s he had done .

His thoughts of killing them both 

changed and he was now contemplating suicide .

 

Jack was in a dark place trying to 

forget all the things he knew and chose to end his own life instead .

 

He knew that if he killed them

both , it would only make him feel satisfied for a little while and afterwards he would have to live with the consequences of what he had  done .

 

The day he chose to end his life 

was the loneliest day he had ever had .

Brenda had gone to work and he took the gun from his car and left it on the kitchen table .

Then he wrote a long note to explain to Brenda why he committed suicide .

He wrote in detail all of the hurt he felt and how he could never live his life trying to forget what she had  done to him .

Then he took the gun and put it to  his head . Just when he was about to pull the trigger there was a knock on the front door .

Jack decided to open the door and standing there temples officers , Jack said 

“Hello how can I help you ?”

The police office spoke softly and compassionately saying ,

“I’m sorry to have to inform you that your wife Brenda’s car collided with another car today and both drivers unfortunately have been killed .

Jack was speechless all

he could say was  

“Thank you for letting me know “

Later on Jack had discovered that the driver of the other car had been her lover who had stolen a car and was under the influence of heavy narcotics .

Jack took his gun and buried it deep in his garden and walked away feeling a little satisfied with how things had turned out .

Within a year Jack was in another relationship with a kind woman who made Jack feel he was able to loved again .
