Foreword 

He was known as the storyteller and he commanded respect and authority as he went from town to town with a collection of stories and the news about people in other places . He had a magical voice that could conjure up sounds of animals and birds as imitate the howling winds and pouring pain . His knowledge about things unknown was a mystery to everyone .

 

He had stories as old as the hills,  from a time when fairies would be seen to dwell among us all over the land . He told tales of legends that would never grow old and he spoke of the magic of a wonderland in hidden places where standing stones talked and magic rings were found upon the ground on green pastures and life was ever young in a world filed with peace and innocence .

In a world without television or radio , the storyteller as an important person and where ever he went people would gather around in circles waiting for him to arrive and they would welcome him with the words ,

“Tell us the stories of the places and all the news about where you’ve been ,

There would be old and young there listening with their eyes closed and their imaginations running wild as he would speak with a whisper .

“Well  then let me see , ah yes, that’s right “

As everyone there moved in around him a little closer as would continue to speak

of people in far off valleys and in villages with farms that had sank down into the bogs . He mentioned names of those who had come and gone and told of other important goings that he had heard from reliable sources .

There were tales about high Kings on throne’s and wolfhounds who lived in caves on the top of mountains  . In told of times to come when the sun would disappear from the sky and when the stars would shine no more . He spoke of wars to come and a time when the forces of good and evil would battle in supernatural realms and how this would bring conflict on earth as well as in the known universe .

Then before he would leave for the next village the people would provide food and shelter for him . He left a legacy everywhere he went and this book is a tribute to the life of the storyteller .
