You Helped Me To Forget

I still remember that day that you came my way

when love came to me in a very special way

I’ve never forgotten that day when my life changed

and since that I know I’ll never be the same.

I will not forget you , the person who helped me .

I remember how you said  just to let it be   .

I eventually forgot those who forgot me .

I’ve not forgot the person I am meant to be .

I have been chosen not to be frozen in time .

I’m grateful to be alive . I am doing fine .

I will enjoy every moment from now on .

There is so much to live for now the past is gone .

You stood by me and understood all that was said

And all the notes I wrote everyone you had read .

I will not forget the  way you smiled at me then

and made me feel ok about how it was when,

I had nothing and no one and couldn’t forgive ,

I will never forget you as long as I live .

You listened  to me and help me to carry on

I was able to forget those who did me wrong .

and I made my way through the dark night of the soul

and you welcomed me in from the darkness and cold 

where I found peace in a place where I’d never been .

I’ll not forget the most beautiful face I’ve seen.
