Sparkle

Since I was a young girl, I have unconditionally loved things which sparkle.
However, your words are dim, and you stand in the shadows
As if there were a dark cloud above your head,
Everyday without fail,
Like a halo
Because you are the goddess of darkness.
You always see the worst side of a situation,
And in the Sunlight your dewy eyes close, Yet,
I cannot resist you
As you are dark like midnight,
So there is starlight
That sparkles in your eyes.

Lovely imagery with a light
Lovely imagery with a light touch in places. If I can offer an opinion the line about seeing the worst in a situation needs changing. The rest of the poem suggests whilst this line just states. Love the ending.

Nice work with the contrast,
Nice work with the contrast, and how the fist and last lines tie the poem together
