Butterfly

I’ve been touched by love, and always have
From the moment I first saw you
Till the dying of the day
You struck me and I’m smitten

Only that can explain the way I feel
When life turns against me
And I rage against perceived injustice
Silently you arrive
Placing me in a trance
Colour exploding into my world
Like the coming of the butterfly

The thought I might be beloved by you
