Twisted Paths

I cannot regret any choices made
For there lies madness
But how can I not question myself
When your slightest touch shows me the path I could have followed
Your sweet caress stirs my senses
Vivid colours, childhood memories
Hinting at what could have been
What should have been?
But would these stolen moments taste as sweet?
Would my heart pound so hard when I see you?
Perhaps cruel fate has looked on me kindly
And twisted our paths so they intertwine once more.
I will savor every moment
I will hold every hug for a second too long
I will revel in the kiss that lasts longer than it should
I will allow every touch to linger on your skin
I will let your sweet scent intoxicate me
My giddy childhood crush
So glad to have a small place in your life
So cherished, scared to ever lose it
I hope our paths remain entwined.
