Virus

I miss the children’s gentle song,
Of playing with friends on the lawn.
Every one of us indoor bound,
As new cases continuously found.
Through the virus we’ve lost so much!
Our loved ones hands we could not touch!
So many lives in deprivation!
Our kids without their education!
Could this go on much longer?
The virus’s strength is getting stronger!
You cough and ask if it’s found you,
In everyone symptoms may be true!
But only the brave and noble win!
As the elders wither from within,
From a myriad of complications.
We as citizens demand explanations!
There is just so much at stake!
I go to bed and pray I wake!
For a new world is already here!
All of us paralysed with fear!
For those of us who have survived,
Are thankful that they’re still alive!
