BLUE DICE

i once lived on a yacht, see ?
now it's boxcars, where i dwell
fine women, once, had blown my dice
but now that's blown to hell
at first, you have a pair o' dice
then only left two die
and everything you see is crap
through one reptilian eye
my pockets once were loaded
and my dice, red hot, in hue
i've lost my lovely dimples
and my dice are now cold blue
yes, life was a casino
with no clocks upon the wall
and as the roof was caving in
i noticed not at all
i didn't give a deuce
what life had heaped upon my tray
they say God slept on sunday
i was sevens, all the way
yet, those tables turn against you
and you lose all touch with felt
for if the cubes get too damned hot
they just begin to melt
some people double up the stakes
but i would do it thrice
how red my face must look now
as i sit with my blue dice
