CAPTURING THE STARS

the stars i see above me
are the same that share your roof
sometimes they twinkle brilliantly
at times, a bit aloof

but still they're watching over us
though miles apart, we are
although i'm no astronomer
i'm gazing at the stars

i dream about you often
and i yearn to see your face
for you and only you
can give the gift of saving grace

the sky is stitched with star light
sending messages afar
astrology seems odd to me
but yet i'm led by stars

the message is of freedom
and affection and of hope
of joining lives together
and to help each other cope

a strong and joyous union
that's impossible to mar
its not just paparazzi
who are capturing the stars
