DAYTIME STARS

the stars that grace the skies at night
are precious twinkles of delight
up in the darkness glows a little spark
.
the crack of dawn drives them away
but how i wish those stars could stay
and in the blue of day just show up dark
.
then looking up, it'd seem to be
the sky appearing as a sea
with stars, throughout, like lovely tropic isles
.
the constellations in a dance
with tales of glory and romance
would fill the daytime skies, inspiring smiles
.
so sad these stars should have to hide
and keep their sparkling fires inside
how fun to have a morning matinee
.
alas, the sun's a jealous queen
and clears the stage when its her scene
she doesn't want a co-star in her way
.
but just the same, they're still up there
suspended in the sunlit air
they peek at us behind the curtains, blue
.
i wink at them and they wink back
and later when the sky turns black
their brilliance once again comes shining through

Daytime stars - now wouldn't

Daytime stars - now wouldn't that be something special. I think it would be
wonderful to see stars gleaming in the blue sky like diamonds.
Another inspiring poem from you Alvin.
Jenny.
