THE EASTER BUNNY

the easter bunny was upset
deficiency of egg
he found that he was clueless
none to borrow, steal or beg
the bunny started hoping
that a plan would finally bud
eventually, it came to him
replace eggs with a spud
potatoes ? he had plenty
his field held quite a bunch
he'd often nibbled on them
for his dinner or his lunch
he got his dyes all ready
and that bunny went to town
but soon, he sadly realized
spuds stayed that shade of brown
he stood, uncomprehending
then he sawed one spud in two
the insides, to his great surprise ?
a brightly colored hue
he realized potatoes
like some people he'd espied
maybe plain on the exterior
but beautiful inside
