ELECTRIC SPARKS

we linger in the distance
for we're forced to bide our time
the poem, though now completed
still must wait to hear its rhyme
.
the rain falls down from heaven
where it joins the rushing streams
until i see your face
i will caress it in my dreams
.
there's secret conversations
that we toss up to the air
the stars above will hear them
but they know they mustn't share
.
there's seeds of new beginnings
lovely flowers, they will bring
until i hear your voice
within the wind, i'll hear you sing
.
we're not completely strangers
for out paths have crossed before
the fire, nearly extinguished
raised its head into a roar
.
from the waves upon the shoreline
to the heat of desert sands
until our fingers touch
electric sparks shoot from our hands
