A couple had a baby
Born on January first
Right at the stroke of midnight
Though that hadn't been rehearsed
He grew up rather quickly
And in his second week
He learned to walk and even run
He also learned to speak
His parents were astonished
As he raced right through the schools
By March, his graduation
He learned necessary tools
By summer he was working
And he rose up through the ranks
By fall he was retiring
He received so many thanks
By winter he was dying
Though it hadn't been a year
Since the very day that he was born
It suddenly was clear
This person held the title
Of the fabled Father Time
He left December thirty-first
When he was past his prime
Same couple had a baby
Born on January first
This baby turned out normal
Now the tables were reversed

The rhyming and rhythm work really well in this poem. Nicely done.
