you hear some music in your mind
you want to give it breath
if there's no notes on paper
it will die a lonely death
.
a tune relies on instruments
with holes and valves and strings
so you must find the impetus
that gives it fire and wings
.
you form a story in your mind
you want to tell the world
if you don't let that ink flow
it will never be unfurled
.
a tale gets lost in memories
alas, that absence stings
so you must find the impetus
that gives it fire and wings
.
you see a painting in your mind
you want to see it bloom
it must be brought to canvas
or no trace of it will loom
.
deep down are the emotions
where the inspiration springs
so you must find the impetus
that gives it fire and wings
.
our lives are compositions
filled with tales and tunes and hues
sometimes it grows distorted
meant to addle and confuse
.
relationships are vital
use the help that friendship brings
so you can find the impetus
that gives life fire and wings
