GRABBITY

i'm here to discuss grabbity
a most amazing force
that tethers us to mother earth
and keeps us all on course

the earth has little fingers
and they grab with all their might
so we don't soar off in the air
but cling to earth so tight

it's grabbity that keeps us home
all safe and warm in place
if not we'll stretch our fingers up
and sail right into space

it's also anchor to the moon
how sad if it got lost
and rolled into the universe
just like a baseball, tossed

we all discover grabbity
when we begin to walk
and we fall over to the floor
and our poor noggins, knock

so why would our kind mother earth
just press us to the ground
when all we wanted all along
was just to walk around

well, mother earth's possessive
doesn't want us to depart
so she will make us cling to her
to stay close to her heart

so she's recruited grabbity
to grab for all its worth
so there'll be no escaping
from our jealous mother earth
