the first time that i saw you

i could tell that you were smart

the brain, to me, the quickest way

to worm inside my heart

you danced in circles 'round me

while i flailed without a thought

i chased you till you caught me

did i catch on ? i think not

i knew i had designs on you

you had to feel it too

did you have plans to draw me in ?

i didn't have a clue

sometimes a plan's conception

turns out better, unprepared

i chased you till you caught me

i'm so glad that i was snared

it's prudent to extrapolate

but sometimes, trust your luck

when love, you find, approaches

like a swift careening truck

my mind was working slowly

but you had a running start
