i've always been a solo act
so low i'd often cry
it seemed i shed more teardrops
than were raindrops in the sky
.
like flowers that embrace the sun
how quickly our love's grown
i long to feel your beating heart
mere inches from my own
.
between the time a heartbeat stops
until the next one starts
there's songs that span infinity
between those beating hearts
.
i realized i'd never heard
a love song of my own
i long to hear your heart sing out
mere inches from my own
.
a heart is just a muscle
so it's said in science books
but i say it's a treasure chest
deceptive in its looks
.
you're now my greatest treasure
with the love that you have shown
and soon your heart with throb with joy
