they were an awkward couple
pair of peas without a pod
whenever she was even
you could bet he'd end up odd
.
he'd always miss her birthday
not one present would she get
the last thing he'd remember
was the last thing she'd forget
.
i guess they never were in tune
atonal, it would seem
whenever he'd have nightmares
she would have the sweetest dream
.
no recall of her favorite song
just like they'd never met
the last thing he'd remember
was the last thing she'd forget
.
although they lasted through the years
he never took the time
to know this woman very well
to figure out her rhyme
.
he died while they were making love
quite frightening ? you bet !
the last thing he'd remember
