MIRRORS AND GLASS

mirrors are reflective
and we want an image, pure
not to be unsullied
by a curve that would obscure
windows are transparent
made of glass , most finely tooled
so we are seeing nothing
and our eyes are truly fooled
glass, when it is altered
is a thing that can be used
to make an image, true
when naked eyes would be confused
mirrors, when they're altered
only tend to bog the mind
its freakishness unwinding
till it's better to be blind
glass is sandy crystals
mirrors are a sea at peace
their border is a coastline
where reality may cease
mirrors seem like magic
superstitious people say
that seven years may haunt you
if one's broken in some way
but you may spend a lifetime
watching horrors that amass
if you've destroyed the window
of a magnifying glass
